otherwise fine guide to the series!
All errors (even if only the type thereof) are emboldened for
easy page-skimming.
Our kudos go to the publisher and authors for correcting most of these errors.
Effective with the fourth version of the softcover United States
edition most of these errors have been corrected, as noted below. Many of the
remaining errors were then corrected in Simpsons World, as also noted below.

They accidentally switched pages 202 and 203 with the fourth version.
It's very obvious since the sidebar is on the wrong side of the page
and the title of the episode "22 Short Films About Springfield" becomes
"About Springfield 22 Short Films". This error only occurs in the fourth
version of this volume.

The sidebar for Don Brodka was reversed, as
evidenced by the "Security" patch on the wrong side of his short and his
walkie-talkie on the wrong side. Nonetheless, one can overlook this if you
consider that a "Security" badge or sticker could be on the either side and
a walkie talkie could obviously be on either side. The absence of the tattoo
on his right arm in the image in fact can theoretically demonstrate that the image is not reversed.

Having inherited this wonderful list a while back I finally took the opportunity to check the list
against the actual shows as I built a new list for Simpsons World. Alas, I had the following
unpleasant and embarrassing surprises awaiting me.

"The sidebar of Harvey Fierstein has his image reversed; the part in his
hair is on the wrong side." We were incorrect on two counts. First, it's Karl,
not Harvey Fierstein we speak of; secondly, Karl's part is on
both sides. Throughout the episode we see his part on either side, and
then this is clearly illustrated as he (in one 'take')
moves his head from left to right as he and Homer enters the
men's clothing store "Royal Majesty for the Obese or Gangly Gentleman".

"The sidebar for Cletus has the image reversed, as
can be told from his tattoo, which is on the wrong arm."
In Cletus' first appearance in episode 1F15
he has no tattoo; in episode 3F11 and 5F17 his
tattoo is shown on his left arm, as illustrated in the book. In many other
appearances his right arm is blank and/or his left arm isn't shown
(4F06, 4F14, 5F01).
Anyone know where this may not be true?

Simpson World: The Ultimate Episode Guide
All previous volumes have now been replaced by Simpsons World, a brand new
massive publication
that includes the first 20 seasons.
This wonderful hefty 1200 page book is available from
Amazon.com.
It corrects many of the errors listed above that were not corrected in the first four versions of the book,
and the few errors that were carried forward are now listed in
Errors in Simpsons World.
FOREIGN EDITIONS
UK Edition
The first printing of the UK edition has the same errors and spine
as the first printing of the US book. As of the ninth printing the UK
edition still carries the same errors and the same spine.
There's also a discount UK printing with identical contents
that was put out by "The Book People Ltd". It has "TED SMART"
printed on the bottom of the back cover, lacks the
HarperCollins logo on the bottom of the spine and within it
indicates "This edition produced for The Book People Ltd.",
published by HarperCollinsPublishers London.
Spanish Edition
The first Spanish printing of this book Guía Completa de Los Simpson
published in November 1998 appears to be based on original version of the
book, including incorrect airdates and episode numbers.
It uses the spine from the second version of the book.
Italian Edition
The first Italian printing of this book I Simpsons: La Guida Completa
Alla Nostra Famiglia Preferita published in 2000 appears to be based on
the second version of the book but still has some of the original errors
from the first version, including incorrect airdates and episode numbers.
It uses the spine from the second version of the book.
There is now another version of this book with a different cover that appears
to include additional seasons. More on this soon!
German Edition
The first German printing of this book Die Simpsons: Der Ultimative
Serienguide published in 2001 is based on the third version of the
U.S. book, including the Notes ("Notizen") end pages. In addition to
everything in the English version, it also includes the first German airdates
(in addition to the first U.S. airdates), it offers a German translation to
signs noted in English in "The Stuff You May Have Missed", and adds other
interesting notes. For example, under Uter, on page 157, it notes that his
origin is German but in the German voice translation he speaks like a Swiss.
